Hey Rich, you paid it forward when you stopped to help me, Mike, Mark and Rich Lemmon paid it forward by offering and helping you.  You guys are dead on, this is what our little community of racers is all about, and it's been this way for over 20 years.

Thanks for the kind words.  Yesterday was a tough one.  Four tire blowouts would be tough for anyone.  Fortunately I did have one spare on board which took care of the first pop.  I have to thank Rich "Stumpy" Brownell and Mike Lynn for stopping to help me. Mike loaned me his drive on ramp to get the trailer up in the air more quickly, and he loaned me the spare from his trailer. The last two tires that popped happened within 30 feet of one another and those two were on the same side of the trailer.
I was able to limp into the Motorplex with those guys sparse mounted, one on each side on the front Axle of the trailer - none, zip on the rear.
Robbie Broom loaned me his spare from his trailer, now I had three tires on the ground.  I called my son Aaron and he took time out of his already scheduled busy day to go to our dealership and bring me down four new tires/wheels - and Aaron even installed them while we were at the awards ceremony.  Thanks Aaron.  This trailer is getting five new 10 ply radials with new wheels (yep it ruined the wheels too) Tomorrow !!.
Thanks to Mark Buchanan for loaning me his battery powered Impack gun and for helping change out Mike Lynn and Robbie Broom's tires.  Plus after the awards ceremony was over and everyone else had left, Mark helped me load my Dart and tie it down. Much appreciated my friend.
During the break after time trials, before first round of eliminations - during our lunch time - Chuck and Norma Buchanan prayed for me that all my woes of the day would now be over and that the rest of the day would be awesome.  You know the outcome, so I say it was pretty awesome.  Thanks Chuck and Norma, and thank you Lord for being a big part of my whole Life !!
Thanks to all of the other TMCCC friends who offered help and supported me in my time of need ! You guys and gals are the best, and you're why I've stayed a participant of TMCCC for over 20 years now.  As Gomer Pyle used to say "Thank you, Thank you, Thank yo

Update - May 8th 2013 Wednesday.

Molly Hall has posted today that Mike and Sharon Adcock and their family, new owners of Dallas Raceway, will be managing the facility themselves -  - that the Halls were told today they would not be managing.  Very sorry to hear that news.  Seems this happened at another DFW area track as well.  It's a shame for the Halls, but they will bounce back, land somewhere that will be home to them.  They're really good people, know the drag strip and drag racing business.

So my below post was in error, but we all took it as fact when we heard it.
Exciting news !!   Molly Hall posted today that Mike and Sharon Adcock had purchased Dallas Raceway in Crandall.  Ken and Molly Hall will remain the management along with all the Halls. Congrats to all.

I liked the track, I liked the hook, I liked the shut down area and the turn around area.  My car hooked up better there than it has anywhere this year and I really appreciated the consistency it offered.

Much thanks to Ken Hall, Kevin Hall and John Hall and the rest of their staff - they ran a very good race.  Sorry that some of the cars broke, but the staff did a really good job cleaning up and keeping the track surface safe.

Plus, my wife Becky said that she very much appreciated that the restroom facilities were so nice & clean.   Their snack bar even had my favorite snack - M&M Peanuts.

I for sure want TMCCC to schedule more races at Dallas Raceway.  And, I will be doing some bracket racing there too.  Thanks again to the Hall's, to Mark Buchanan and Phillip Nickles for getting us a race there.

From Grady Hentz,

I had some people that had heard about some changes at the Denton track ask if anything had changed. The short answer is no.
I spoke with the new owner/manager and they are expecting us as planned. With new people in place there may be some hickups but we've been there before and made it through.

See Ya Sunday at 8 AM
Grady

Thanks for making this happen Grady - we all appreciate knowing this early in the week.

To our racing family:

It is with deep sadness and regret that we have to let each of you know that our time with North Star Dragway is coming to an end. The past five years that we have been associated with NSD has been some of the happiest of our lives, and that happiness would not have been possible without each and everyone of you that supported us. Despite rising gas prices, a difficult economy, and a longer drive, we could always count on seeing our friends driving into the gate.

As you know, in 2010, we took over as the operators of the track. Things weren't always easy, and we had to make some choices on what improvements we could make and programs that we could offer. Even though we couldn't always afford to do the things we wanted to do, we always put the racers first and did whatever we could do to make your experience at our track the best that is could be.

Since our lease was abruptly and unexpectedly terminated in early July, we have continued to work with the new owners to provide a quality racing experience at the track. While things behind the scenes may have been changing, we did our absolute best to make sure that things for the racers continued as they always have. We understand that this is a hobby for you, and an expensive one, and we pride ourselves on providing the best experience possible.

Unfortunately, over the last few weeks, circumstances have arisen that have forced us to make a decision regarding our future at NSD. And with that being said, this upcoming Saturday, September 8th, will be the final day at North Star Dragway for Larry and I. This decision was extremely difficult for our family, and not one that was reached without extensive discussion. We just feel that this is the best decision for our family's happiness and will allow us to continue to provide for our families.

And, please, don't think you are going to get rid of us that easily. We will pop up somewhere and plan to continue to do what we love to do in drag rac

Really enjoyed the banquet last night.  Grady and Mark did a really good job.  Awesome tribute to Ron Dillinger with the "RON" award.

We " Texas Trailer Man" passed out some discount coupons for services at our dealership.  A couple of people called to our attention the different experation dates on the coupons.  Any of you who want to use those coupons  please let us know that you are part of the Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge - We are making all of those coupons, regardless of experation date, good until December 23rd, 2011.  That is basically a month and 10 days.  We apologize for the oversight - but we were so busy racing the TMCCC Challenge that we didn't pay good enough attention to the dates on the coupons.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us in the past, for buying trailers from us, buying parts from us for your trailer or your tow vehicle, or having your trailer serviced by us.  We hope that you will continue to use us in the future.

Come by and meet our new associate, Michael Ross - He's not a racer, but he is Spirit filled like us and a joy to talk to.

It is very sad, we've lost a good friend, not only to the Mopar Community, but to the Car Club Community as well. We were running the finals of Ron's Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge Series race at Ardmore Oklahoma yesterday about the same time that Ron passed away. Ron will be missed by all of us. Rest in peace our friend. To Charlene and the family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

First let me say sorry to those guys that had breakage yesterday.  Two of our guys running with the Cowtown Mopars broke, one broke an axle in his new Challenger, Frank Bonczek broke the rear end in his 69 Dart.  Other teams experienced a transmission explosion and a broken rear end.

I was fortunate yesterday to not have any major situations.  My '74 Dart # 4773L running for the Cowtown Mopars did very well yesterday, inspite of the driver. I had the right slick 1/2 pound lower than left slick and car kept leaving to right, but I borrowed Kim Humphrey's air gauge and fixed that. (new air gauge in route now).  Thanks Kim !

It took me three passes to find the tree - I found it in the Quarter finals against Jimmy O'Neal # 068 '65 Red Corvette - but Jimmy should would have won that race if not for a glitch in his Crosstalk computer.  Jimmy you are an awesome racer and person, glad you are a part of the TMCCC program.

But then I got itchy in semi finals and red lit  -.018 against Greg Wilder # 543  in the Yellow Firebird running for the GM Performance club.  Greg went on to win Electronics, defeating Larry Benson  # 505 in his '57 Turquois Corvette running for the Lonestar Corvette club.

Thanks to all of the TMCCC Electronics class racers, you all help make it fun and exciting.  See you guys April 3rd at Denton.

Absolutely Mike.  A big thanks goes out to Mark Buchanan and Grady Hentz for being our Cowtown Mopars Performance Team Leaders and Representatives for the TMCCC series.  You guys have been awesome leaders, mentors, team mates and friends.  We thank you for your tireless efforts in keeping us organized and aware of what goes on.  Thanks for sharing your knowledge and giving your assistance.
Thanks a bunch to "Cookie" for being there each and every race with his great food preparations - you the Man Ken !!!
Thanks Mike Miller for keeping up the web sites and getting the points posted for us.
I personally look forward very much to next year, next season and doing this all over again.  Who Knows, I might even come out of retirement and run for a championship next year - hahaha.  I did say might !!

Ron & Charlene - We know it is a lot of work and takes up a lot of your time, but we racers really appreciate what you folks do to put on the TMCCC series.

We have had lots of fun racing the series and we have made a lot of friends because of it. Thanks so much for the opportunity.

Gary & his crew ran a pretty smooth and quick program yesterday at Texas Raceway. The track had the best "Hook" that we have experienced all year there.  Looked like a pretty good turnout for the final race of the series.

Was exciting to see our pal Kim Humphrey there yesterday running his Yellow 74 Dart Sport - and the Castleman brothers with their Green Dodge Challenger.

Congratulations to all the finalist yesterday, especially "Mad Max" who whooped up on me in the final of the "Big Dog" in Electronics" class.  We look forward to seeing everyone at the banquet this Saturday.
