General discussion » AWESOME Racer turnout and support for Race III at Xtreme Raceway Park » 4/30/2019 7:04 am |
I personally, along with our TMCCC President, Jorge Suris - want to thank all of our Members for the awesome turnout for the Xtreme Raceway Park race. We had 157 Tech Cards, and lots of spectators too. It turned out a little warm and humid, but it was a good day for racing. Want to compliment the young lady for her announcing of the event - she was very clear, precise, and she announced the Sponsors very, very well. Also, thanks to Mr. President Jorge Suris for his awesome announcing during the later rounds - I think he might have missed his calling !!
Also, a super thank you to all the TMCCC Board members for your dedicated, above board service - everyone is so appreciated.

What a day at the Xtreme Raceway Park TMCCC races Sunday. Want to thank all the Club Race Team Members for helping me out Sunday. In the 1/4 Finals of Electronics Class, during the burnout, I realized I had a serious motor issue - my opponent, Billy Key, red lit, and in order to not do more serious damage to my motor, I just idled through, and back to pits. I called my day done, and I was satisfied that I had Semi Final'd. But, Mike Bearce & a few other Race team members brought up the fact that I would need to "Stage the Car and take the Light" in order to get my Semi points. All the Team members rallied to my aide - they hooked a tow strap to my Dart, and Jimmy James Blackwell, with his pickup, pulled me to the staging lanes. All we intended to do was stage the car, and get my points for the Semi's - but God was also looking after me - and I drew the bye run - which meant I would be in the Finals. Jimmy pulled me up to the right lane, and all the Cowtown Mopars Team, and a few other racers, pushed me thru the burnout out box to the starting line, then thru the beams, and I was in the Finals. Mr. Jeff Nekuza, my opponent, was the Electronics Winner - and I was a gracious Runner Up. Thanks so much to all my Cowtown Mopars Race Team Buddies for insisting they would get me to the staging lanes to get my points !!

General discussion » Suggestions for Low Car Count Races » 6/11/2018 12:43 pm |
I think that is a valid suggestion. I would have done that yesterday for sure.
We owe Larry & Jan Croft, and Nick Duty a big thank you for putting the race on yesterday, even though we did not have enough car count for them to even break even.
Our participants need to understand that the tracks have to generate an income, and if we don't support the events with turn out, they won't be having us back.
I know it was hot yesterday, and for a 71 year old man it was tough - The tow up there and back was about $ 75. in fuel for my truck. The tow to Xtreme Raceway Park and back was about $ 30, the tow to Abilene and back was $ 55. The entry fees were the same for all three events. So my cost to do the one day travel was more, but was worth the tow and the additional time. I would do it again next weekend, because I want the TMCCC program to survive.

General discussion » Supporting the TMCCC Race Program - Please read » 4/26/2018 2:55 pm |
Guys and Gals, With TMCCC not running at NorthStar, Dallas Raceway, Texas Raceway, and Redline Raceway - any longer, it has kinda put everything in a kink, schedule wise. Last year was a tough year what with the rain outs and the NorthStar situation. The Sport of Drag Racing is changing, new and different programs have become very popular with the fans, and the tracks are picking up on that, and putting those types of events on the schedule.Having a large fan/spectator turn out helps the tracks generate more income. Our Program is Bracket Racing - - So we as "Bracket Racers" don't have the clout that the other programs have. Therefore, our Bracket Racing program is kinda becoming second fiddle to the other programs. The tracks are scheduling the programs that bring in better, more substantial income, first. The TMCCC Officers are doing the very best they can to get us some races scheduled - but they are having to deal with that element of change. We are going to have to be very flexible to survive our series. If we as racers don't continue to support the TMCCC races, regardless of what day, what time, and who the race is shared with, then our series is surely doomed. So, I am suggesting that all of the TMCCC members and clubs, band together to keep our program alive. Understand that situations aren't always easy to control - promote the races amongst your Club and Team, and be there at the races to support your Club and the TMCCC as a whole. Thanks in advance everyone !!Bill Boon, Electronics Racer and Texas Trailer Man Sponsor

General discussion » 2018 Race Schedule » 1/19/2018 10:26 am |
[color=#1d2129]Ladies and Gentleman - I would like to inject some comment here about the TMCCC = Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge racing series.
Firstly, the TMCCC was designed for Car Clubs to compete against Car Clubs, thusly, for the Club Drivers to compete against other Club Drivers - " FOR POINTS".
This idea has been working for Thirty Years, with minimal change to its Bylaws and Rules.
I personally want to see the TMCCC series continue for at least as long as I can participate, and years beyond that.
Drag Racing is changing dramatically - participants interests are changing dramatically - some participants want to see just how quick and fast they can go, without much consideration for safety - some want to just race at events that offer up big money purses, some of those offering up Buy Backs, and which take many, many hours to complete. Some want to race just the NHRA Legal classes, such as - Stock, Super Stock, Comp, Super Street, Super Gas. etc, etc. Some just want to run the NHRA or IHRA Bracket program at their local race facility. Those are all individual choices participants make, just as running the TMCCC program is. No matter which, or what, program, you decide to compete in - it takes committed participation to make it successful, regardless of what the PAYOUT is = whether that be Monies, Trophies, or Plaques.
Please understand, the TMCCC officers are doing their best in this dramatically changing racing world to keep this series going, to get us races as close to home as possible, to get 10 races scheduled each season and to get all those scheduled races completed.
The Racing Facilities have to make a profit to keep their tracks operating, and viable. We have to understand they are going to first fill up their schedules with events that they can generate the most income from, then fill in with other events - like the TMCCC.
This is what the TMCCC is experiencing most dramatically this year.
I said all of this to ask
