As TXR has a bit of a reprieve from being forced to close by the City.
I you want to.. you might get the powers that be, to see about getting a TMCCC race out there this year.
So far TXR has announced
Fri. March 17 First TnT
Sat. March 18 Season opener TOPMA and Renegade series.  (most of the remainder already scheduled at the Motorplex)
June 24 SHRA  race.
They haven't announced Sun 19 March so that's prob first potential date. which would be the day after the ProMod race.
Anywho just food fer thought.

How did the new Outlaw class come out?

Don't know.  IIRC the only posting of new rules (which I guess were preliminary and seem to have been redacted...) stated that trans brake equipped cars had to run in outlaw.  and I don't really know if even the spirit of rule was based on people using a trans brake to launch, or more as it read: just having a trans brake forces the car into outlaw class even it's not used to launch . ( least as best as I recall since I think that rules update post was deleted.)

FWIW the most recent post states
"Outlaw is going to become reality with one additional change and that is Outlaw will be open to ANY car that can run 7.64 or quicker. What that means is if a racer chooses to compete in this class using foot brake, line lock for burn outs, high end rev limiter. shift light and nothing else this is perfectly acceptable. TMCCC does not mandate that a racer has to use any of the aids offered in this class. We do this to hopefully open the class up to more racers. "

My assumption is "Can run 7.64" really means: must run a dial of no slower than 7.64 so if say a 7.70 running car wanting to run that class would be OK but they can not dial slower than 7.64.
and assuming the new rules will say that a 7.65 and slower dialing car launching off a trans brake can stay in King, Super etc. as they were last year

Or course none of the above  really answers your class question of foot braking in a car that physically has a trans brake even though you don't use it. well except for reverse? lol

Yes there is a FB page
https://www.facebook.com/TMCCC-227325360742165/
https://www.facebook.com/TMCCC-227325360742165/
Far as I know it's kind of un official TMCCC.  Bill and I are the admins, although most of the time it's Bill passing along info. and messengers is little more than we are on most of it
You should be able to view it even if you are not a FB member but must be a FB member to post.

The discussion you are referring to relates to the formation of an Outlaw class and possibly some rule changes for 2016.  I do not know why such discussion has not been presented here also.  Anyway at the moment latest from Phillip looks like we will have an outlaw class and request has been made to comment on if the class should have a 7.64 cap or be all ET (like electronics)

Has this racers club been advised of his actions?

yes, I got an email from the the club president after posting my comment, expaining who it was, and kind of what all happened. I wouldn't expect that club to have that happen again. Other clubs.. who knows. and why I'd suggest a putting a penaly in place ahead of (next) time. as what happend in this instance, IMO it's water under the bridge now, and I understand was resolved by putting racers back into the ROC that had lost to the DQ'd racer. which seems fair.

FYI to RandTX's earlier post about pulling points from a Racer who should not have been racing in the Race of
Champions:  just so everyone knows--there are no points awarded to a Racer or Club for Race of Champions.
ROC's purpose is to give 2 Racers per Club an opportunity to get more seat time if they have lost in either the First
or Second round. (Notice it does not say 3rd Round).  It does suck to tow/drive all the way to a Race and go out
the first round. (or second).  How well I know.

I was actualy reffering to the points the racer and club earned in the reg class racing.. which admitedly would be harsh penalty, but reallly would get clubs really watching their own rather than each other.

I didnt' attend that race, but have seen Robert pull cars in other races.  Never saw that as a problem, in fact was gratefull that someone was actually pulling cards and strictly pulling cards AND paying attention that same club members were were not ending up racing each other in early rounds. Overally I think it's better having a TMCCC racers doing that than someone that has never done it, or did it once last year. as tmccc ruless and pairing concept is somewhat foreign to most all other types of bracket racing.

Now of course a racer, running in the consolation race, when a racer made it past 2nd round is a clear rule violation, but if a racer is intentionally going to violate such a rule, not sure who or when someone could / should have caught that.  I'd think one quick easy perventer, would be to rule to DQ said racer and remove points from the racer / club for for that race... awarding said points to their opponents / respective clubs. Then the odds of that happening again would be remote....but prob a good thing I'm not in charge of such things lol

For your musement..
It's like bracket racing just heads up and with no prep except juiced line.. with a strict DQ rule if you pass the line after the burnout.. (aka why you see suicidal loking folk standing in front to the cars to remind them not to cross)

Might be a good Idea to have management contact Mike and see if something can be set up. If its' profitable for both, it would probably help Redline  get back up on it's feet n running. TMCCC always had a pretty good turnout for redline, right?

yeah and some very deliberate thought seems to have gone into acquiring blue duct tape and doing a very even, well trimmed, and carefully applied tape down job.

Let's talk about the rules and this might affect what those involved decides to do. According to tmccc rules you must take the tree to get points for that round. Richard that means you will get semifinalist points and the other half of the final must take the tree to get finals points. Keep in mind if you decide to go to Ennis and finish the race the other half of the final must be in agreement or the race is over at Kennedale. Sorry if this seams unfair but this is how we need to hadle this according to the rules.

See ya
Mark

BTW to discussion of the rules...
I think we need to change the points system.
There is no good logic to awarding the looser in the semifinals more points than the winner.
and I think points should align with trophy.. not a deal where potentially a finalist gets less points than than the semifinalist (as in the runner up could not take the light in the finals) l

and this sort of thing just points that out.  If a racer that wins in the semifinals then can't race in the finals or both racers can't, say race is just terminated with no completion the current system puts the racers that lost in the semi finials in ahead of the racer(s) that beat them by one point.

So for next year I propose we amend the point rule to not award more points to the losers than the winners, at any point in the competition

Heck easy enough, similar to other elimination rounds the winner and loser of semifinals could get 2 points each. then in the finals give 2 points runner up and 4 points to the winner. that would normally end up with everyone earning the same points as now on a fully completed race
Or increase the spread a bit and in semi finals give loser 2 winner 3  and same in finals..
that way if a race was terminated (aka neither finalist could take the light in the finals) the would be finalists would minimally be one point ahead of the semifinalist  they just beat rather than even with them
or worse yet  vs as is now.. one po

oh well such is life lol and does recreate the denton hot lap situation as it would have played out..
so I have no problem with that.
