1/8 mile for super pro??

Why are Pro and Super Pro running 1/8 mile at Ennis? I really look forward to the 1/4 mile at ennis and am VERY disappointed.

Re: 1/8 mile for super pro??

A large majority of the racers in those classes decided that they wanted all races 1/8th mile.

Then what's the point in going to a 1/4 mile track?

Re: 1/8 mile for super pro??

Because the other 4 classes still run the 1/4 mile.

Re: 1/8 mile for super pro??

The way it works is majority rules and we voted it out for those two classes. The reason being is that most of us have our cars set up for the 1/8 mile and when we ran a 1/4 it was really hard on the cars. We try to run a our cars all season without breaking and it seemed like the 1/4 would get them every time. I think Dan has it right we all like a change of scenery and we love to race. Have a good day.

Re: 1/8 mile for super pro??

I thought at the Banquet it was said that ele. would run eighth a mile and at the first two races their would be a vote for next year for the other classes .That way all people running S. pro  would have there vote counted. At least thats what i heard.

Re: 1/8 mile for super pro??

Larry Benson called/e-mailed the Racers that were signed up in the Driver's Reward program last year
for Pro and Super Pro (called Top Muscle last year) to record their preference of 1/8 vs 1/4.  I believe
this happened mainly in December '12. Per Larry results were that majority preferred 1/8.
