Re: Texas Raceway race rescheduled

Can anyone say knee deep in mud? Humidity is too high for the ground and track to dry out.

Re: Texas Raceway race rescheduled

they should have delayed the start till 11 or noon now i know most people do not wnna wait that long but mabe we could have gotten the race in then because the humity droped from 95 at 5.30 in the morning to 45 at 11 in the morning

Re: Texas Raceway race rescheduled

Test and tune has a lot less people showing up and they will all be able to park on the paved pit area. You know when we show up the parking ends up covering a lot of the grass area which will still be a swamp after last nights rain. There is no way that ground would be dry enough for us to have parked on even with the drop in humidity.

Re: Texas Raceway race rescheduled

I was more concerned about the grass/mud parking than the actual humidity.  I have never raced at Texas Raceway, this was my chance to give it a try.  I am scheduled to run at North Star Dragway on the 7th. Oh well, there is always next year.

Re: Texas Raceway race rescheduled

Well I don't think it was the weather. Shelly and I went out there tonight and they did not have the clocks working. They were doing an arm drop. What happen the tower lost electricity when a big fuse above the transformer blew and they could not get the electric company out there till this evening at about 5.  They fixed the fuse and were still trying to get the clocks working when Shelly and I left at 7:30. I think that is the main reason we did not run this morning. I don't like the changing to the 7th either. Shelly will be gone on a cruise with her mother so I will be there by myself.

Re: Texas Raceway race rescheduled

That really sucked! I drove 130 miles round trip just to find out there was no race.

What's going on a Northstar on the 7th? Nothing on their schedule.

Re: Texas Raceway race rescheduled

It was rumored that North Star was going to have a finale for the Summit Series on Saturday and Sunday next weekend.  It has been changed and now they are having their finale on Friday and Saturday. See their site for details.  See you this weekend.

Re: Texas Raceway race rescheduled

Well they finally got the clocks working at Texas Raceway yesterday evening. They need to get someone there that knows how to work that stuff. It shouldn't take three days to get them going.  So Shelly and I are going to try and get some practice tonight.

Re: Texas Raceway race rescheduled

There wasn't a problem with knowing what to do, the power was knocked out and the main timing computer was damaged. There would have also been so much mud making it's way to the starting line, it wouldn't have been pretty. I think I can make the Nov 7th race!
