2013 Schedule

So is there any Schedule yet???

Re: 2013 Schedule

Typically in years past the schedule was not set until Jan/Feb.  There is a Board meeting coming up in a couple of weeks-one of the main topics most likely will be to vote on the number of races, where to have them, note any dates
that need to be scheduled around.  After that happens the Board President talks to each track to see what dates
are available to us and puts together the 2013 schedule.
Again, that is how it was handled in the past-stay tuned until after the December Board meeting (first week in
December)!!

Re: 2013 Schedule

Has it been decided if we will only run 1/8 at all races?

Re: 2013 Schedule

Not yet.  There will be a survey of the racers opinion at the first few races next year

Re: 2013 Schedule

Could the track in Shreveport be a possible track??   The owner said he would like to have a race for us...

Re: 2013 Schedule

It gets too expensive to drive 400 miles round trip and have to pay for a motel as well. A lot of us race this series because it doesn't cost an arm and a leg and the average guy can drive his car to and from the track. A good number of us are doing this on a retirement income. By adding long distance races you are taking us out of the points and that isn't fair. There are a number of other race series that you can race out of state if that's what you like to do. I know some of The TMCCC guys are doing that and it doesn't seem to interfer with with either schedule

Re: 2013 Schedule

I gave what my outlook was on the suggestion. It is in no way a decision. I have no more decision making power than you do. I am not a member of the board. Just this one mans point of view. Which I have every right to state. Same as you have the right to state yours. My moderating this site has nothing to do with what the board does. Every club has  representives on the board and they make the schedule and rules. If you have suggestions you need to tell them and they will talk to the other board members about them.

Re: 2013 Schedule

Hell I love to race at different tracks. And meet new people sometimes it's like a vacation when you travel to race thats at of town.  I would be surprised if Denton says yes next year. Nick would love to have us at Thunder Valley all so.I really don't care where we race at lets just do it

Re: 2013 Schedule

Our group (Mustang Club) has always liked out-of-town races: when we used to race Abilene,Rusk and Thunder Valley (OK) we would go up on Saturday to get seat time by running the local program the night before, stay in
a motel and race the next day.  Kind of a mini-vacation to hang out with friends--definately not cheap though and
everyone's budget can't handle it (including my own at times).  The over-riding factor on whether
the Board schedules out of town races is "expected attendence" on the part of our racers.  When Ron ran the
Challenge he stated that 80 cars was breakeven on an event -the Challenge gets a cut of gate receipts and then pays for Jackets/awards out of the cut.  Poor attendence is why Thunder Valley and Abilene fell off the schedule.
High fuel costs (tow vehicles) and the economy going to crap is what caused the poor attendence.
I'm sure the Board will look at Shreveport-actually doing a race there will depend on what kind of financial deal can be struck with the track, what available dates there are and a gut feel for what kind of attendence could be expected.
And the Challenge does need to make money thru the year as that is how the year end awards and some of
the banquet door prizes are paid for as well as subsidizing a portion of the meal/room costs for the banquet.

Re: 2013 Schedule

All the TMCCC races are out of town for me. Most are 200 plus miles. Yes I know it is my decision to do so which is why I am debating on towing the mazda and racing in pro or king or just keep driving a street ride and racing in stock again next year. Shreveport would actually be only 100 miles from my house so this would be great for me. I really like the TMCCC but still undecided on what I am going to do next year. I will be racing with tall just not sure what yet. Most of it depends on if I have the money to tow that far or not.

Re: 2013 Schedule

Well I drive 200 plus to all the races and that OK. race was over 400 for me, yeah I complained to myself about it, but I had a good time and it was a track I had never been to before, I think Thunder road raceway would be a great place for TMCCC to go and it's a great place and a big place no one would be parking in the dirt there lol.  I love racing and did 30 other racing events this year along with the TMCCC races, I have a great time racing with you guys and made a bunch of new friends and thats why I go, Because I suck at bracket racing, I think we should have 1 heads up class door cars only no other rules, it would bring more racers to TMCCC. just a thought, hope everyone had a great Thanks giving Cheers....

Re: 2013 Schedule

Actually there is a double handful of events that cut the 51 weeks down. There are cars shows for every brand and payout races etc. The biggest problem the board deals with is scheduling conflicts.
