I started racing with TMCCC in 1999 Susan joined in 2002 and we do this as a couple thing. She has to get up at 5:30 am for work which means that out of town races are a no go and I don't have any fun without her there. So we decided to take this year off to see what happens. We really are enjoying the time together. I do miss the racing but not enough to give up relaxed family time. We also get to take motorcycle cruises together now.

I think the low count may be because the long distance races have taken the casual racers out of the count. They are an goodly amount of car count normally. I know that couldn't be helped but I the hard core just aren't enough to maintain the necessary field. Maybe getting the racers closer to those home tracks involved some how would help.

Looks like it's going to be too cold to do track prep until 10am or so. Supposed to be under 55 until then. I hope the weather report is wrong which happens a lot.

Good question on the motorplex's  ability to coordinate two races at once. Has anyone checked with them to see if it can be done? It's a good idea but if the Motorplex can't deal with it then it becomes a moot point.

Wouldn't that lead to hot lapping which isn't good for some of the faster classes? Then there is the issue of the water box. The lower classes would end up having to go through the water and dragging it where the guys with slicks don't want it. Plus the street tire guys don't like the water either.

I should have said it doesn't look like they come here much as they don't post much. I really don't know how close they watch this board. They may keep a better  eye on it than it appears. It seems that they only post announcements here.

I think to get a quick answer you could email either Tim or Mike because they don't watch this to much. Their email addys are listed here.    http://www.tmccc.org/MainFrame.html

I'm just glad they managed to get another race scheduled. The season was looking pretty grim. We need the races to pay for the banquet. Too few and we would end up with the banquet being hot dogs in the walmart parking lot.

Picked off another site.     "This is straight from Cindi and Dave McMillan's mouth. The City of Kennedale has a new mayor and 3 new councilman. The ones that wanted the track closed and reneged on the agreement with the track are gone. The city was suppose to have a buyer for the land when the track closed and they didnt.
Cindi and Dave are working with the city to get the track reopened, there is a small chance but there is a chance. The dirt track down the street is open and has no plans on closing. All drag strip equipment including timing system is still intact, nothing has been sold."
Keep your fingers crossed.

Maybe you should let those YB guys know that TMCCC has been racing 2 or 3 times a year at North star for a lot of years with no problems until Gene took over and that we do rent Ennis at least the same number of races and they have no problem ruuning our way. Also that TMCCC is an older organization of at  20+ car clubs.  The TMCCC is the largest club against club racing series in the country. It was founded by a group of muscle car owners that liked to race their cars but didn't want to race in a weekly bracket series. Soon after the first few events, more clubs in the area started showing interest and before you knew it, the series had grown into 9 -10 event covering much of north Texas and Oklahoma. With car counts exceeding 200 at many of the races, we have proven that muscle cars are here to stay. I don't think they realize how big we are and that this isn't our first rodeo.
